AniMedia East has been started as there are currently no conventions or events happening in East Anglia (UK).
It seeks to prosper the idea of cultural diversity in the region, and to give like-minded individuals in the area an event to meet at and have fun a little closer to home as well as attending other conventions across the country. This is also open to anyone else in the country who would be interested in attending if we can gain the right amount of interest with a variety of different people.
Right now, I am aiming to gather as many like-minded people as possible so that we might be able to discuss ideas and put them into motion both online and in person with one another as well as speaking to the relevant people who may take an interest in the cause to make a profit from it.
It is a voluntary movement for individuals who are interested in: anime, manga, video-games, comics, cosplay, role-playing and other media. It is out of general interest, although it seeks to grow into something more eventually.
Anyone wishing to get involved on a voluntary basis out interest, you are most welcome. There is a group on Facebook you can join where discussion, photos, links and videos are encouraged - AniMedia East (Facebook Group).
We currently need more people getting involved and helping to run the group/site.
Please remember, this group is for anyone and everyone, but especially in the East Anglia region.
If you feel you can contribute something more than membership for the group, such as: * Running a part of the group from another area
* Being an affiliate if you're already running a group
* Engaging in advocacy for the group to raise awareness
* Becoming a moderator on the forum for this site
, then please make contact with myself (SlimDefinition) or Raye-chan, state what you want to do and we'll take it from there. We cannot accept anyone who makes an "I want to help out" statement if they a.) haven't got a clue what they want to/can do, and/or b.) aren't going to deliver the details of their statement.
Please show your willingness to be involved, as we will take your efforts into consideration when it comes to becoming a moderator, organiser etc...
